Ms. Gottshall is regarded as a privacy law pioneer who helped create paradigms used widely today. She has deep experience as outside privacy counsel and serving as outside Chief Privacy Officer (CPO). She is also the creator of CPO on Demand™ an offering allowing clients to access privacy professionals without the commitment of an internal team.
She counsels clients on a breadth of privacy, data security, technology, information governance, consumer protection, data management and digital marketing and advertising issues.
She creates privacy compliance programs and acts as counsel for “privacy by design”. She advises on compliance around the collection, transfer, storage and sharing of data. She advises on GDPR compliance and the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), Online Children’s Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), Video Privacy Protection Act (VPPA) and statutes regulating communications, including CAN-SPAM and the TCPA. She is on the Advisory Board and Co-Chair of Education Committee, of the Stanford Women on Boards Initiative, on the Leadership Team of Executive Women in Privacy and a Corporate Advisory Board Member for Baby Quip.
