Program Summary

Brainwashing and Programming are terms that have been used by courts and clinicians to describe a process where a child's perception, feelings, emotions towards a parent are drastically altered due to the brainwashing / programming parent's influence. Parental Alienation could be the result of such brainwashing / programming process. Clinical and professional literature has described for us various brainwashing / programming processes that could be employed to rewrite a child's history and to remake the child's cognitive, emotional, and behavioral psyche. We also know what science describes as "detection factors": signs to look for when interviewing, examining, or cross-examining a child suspected of being brainwashed or programmed. Whether you are a family court judge, referee, Guardian ad Litem, Minor's counsel, family law practitioner, or a professional affiliated with family courts, this class will teach you about the terminology, processes, detection factors of brainwashing and programming, and also discuss appropriate legal and mental health interventions.

This course is co-sponsored with myLawCLE.

Key topics to be discussed:

  • Brainwashing and Programming: Definition of the terms
  • Parental Alienation: Clinical and Legal Definitions
  • How does the Brainwashing and Programming Process Work
  • How to detect whether a child has been exposed to Brainwashing and Programming
  • Interviewing a Brainwashed and Programmed Child
  • Interventions
