Session I – Improving Client Service with Financial Literacy – Terry Lloyd

This 90-minute session will cover the basic financial statements and how lawyers in practice can use finance and accounting tools to assist clients in transactions, litigation, and general corporate practice.

  • What accounting and financial statements do – and don’t – tell lawyers in practice
  • How lawyers in practice need to adjust standard financial statements to better serve their clients

Session II - Corporate Financing and Governance Essentials – Josh Andrews

A lawyer’s role in helping a client navigate the complexities of corporate financing is a complex one. Lawyers are the ones who are often left to assist our clients as they manage investors, banks, debt, and financial professionals. In this session, we will cover how corporate governance works with the corporate finance issues faced by business clients.

Terry Lloyd, CPA, CFA is a financial analyst who works frequently with lawyers in transactions, litigation, and valuation matters. He has been published widely and speaks regularly to lawyers, judges, and other financial professionals. He has been qualified as an expert in federal, state, tax courts, arbitration forums, and international tribunals. He is a contributing author to a law school text on accounting for lawyers and he once deposed another CPA.
