In July 2021, a group of government agencies issued an interim final rule that restricts out-of-pocket costs to consumers from surprise billing and balance billing. Most individuals are familiar with the terms “in-network” and “out-of-network” in relation to health insurance plans. Part of the No Surprises Act (Pub. L. 116-260), the new regulations take effect for healthcare providers and facilities, as well as contract years for group health plans, health insurance insurers, and FEHB carriers on January 1, 2022. The purpose of this webinar is to provide an overview of health insurance plan nuances, the requirements under these new laws and regulations, and provide compliance tidbits.
