Program Summary

This program will give a broad overview of the Pennsylvania Workers’ Compensation system, starting with a discussion of the principles behind the Pennsylvania Workers’ Compensation scheme. Experienced attorneys, certified specialists in Workers’ Compensation, will outline the elements of a claim, burdens of proof, the types of available benefits, and will chart the lifetime of a claim from initial intake to termination and settlement. They will discuss specific litigation issues and practice before Pennsylvania Workers’ Compensation Judges.

Mr. Wolf is the majority shareholder and managing attorney at the Pottstown, Pennsylvania firm of Wolf, Baldwin & Associates, P.C., where he maintains an active workers’ compensation practice ranging all over Eastern Pennsylvania, concentrating in Montgomery, Berks, and Chester Counties. He was one of the inaugural attorneys to be certified as a specialist in the practice of workers’ compensation law by the Pennsylvania Bar Association’s Section on Workers’ Compensation Law as authorized by the Pennsylvania Supreme Court in 2013. He is a past Treasurer and longtime Council member of the Solo and Small Firm Section of the Pennsylvania Bar Association, and a member of the Montgomery and Berks Workers’ Compensation Committees. He frequently speaks on behalf of the Solo and Small Firm Section at various functions and its annual Retreat, and has presented multiple times on Workers’ Compensation to the Montgomery Bar Association.

He has volunteered for numerous charitable organizations in and around the Pottstown area, including the Carousel at Pottstown, the Steel River Playhouse, Project HEARTH, the Pottstown Historical Society, Pottstown GoFourth!, and Congregation Mercy and Truth synagogue, and he is the former chairman of Pottstown’s Historic Architecture Review Board. He lives in the downtown Historic District of Pottstown, and studies traditional Okinawan karate. He graduated from The Hill School in Pottstown, earned a B.A. in History from the University of Pittsburgh, and earned his J.D. from the University of Pittsburgh School of Law.

Daniel E. McCabe is Certified as a specialist in the practice of workers’ compensation law by the Pennsylvania Bar Association’s Section on Workers’ Compensation Law as authorized by the Pennsylvania Supreme Court.

Mr. McCabe attended West Chester University, as a Speech Communications major and a Political Science minor. He graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts in speech communications in 1995. Following his undergraduate work, he attended Villanova University School of Law, where he was active in Moot Court, and earned his Juris Doctor in 1998.

Since 2002, Mr. McCabe has concentrated his practice solely on workers’ compensation law. His first experience with workers’ compensation was representing employers and insurance companies. However, since 2003, he has represented injured workers exclusively. His experience on both sides of workers’ compensation law allows him to serve his clients with the valuable knowledge of how the insurance companies operate. He is active in the Workers’ Compensation section of the Chester County Bar Association. He spends his time managing the West Chester office for the firm and represents injured workers all over the state.

Mr. McCabe spends his free time as an avid cyclist, even riding the cobblestones of Belgium. He is also a musician who plays drums, piano and guitar. He joined Wolf, Baldwin & Associates, P.C. in 2006.
