This course is designed to provide an overview of the types of communications that clients commonly expect from their attorneys and the ethical duties that attorneys have relative to those expectations. We will analyze this in the context of four topics of current interest: (1) The Corporate Transparency Act, (2) Notification of Data Breach, (3) Notification of a Mistake, and (4) Prospectively Limiting Malpractice Liability. Attorneys should be able to take from this course various considerations and solutions for improving client communications while simultaneously increasing their compliance with ethics rules.
