Katherine L. Taylor is the founder of Taylor Legal, a boutique Maryland law firm representing business owners and property owners throughout the Baltimore-Washington area. Ms. Taylor began her legal career in the Commercial Litigation Department of the Baltimore Law Firm of Whiteford, Taylor and Preston. She left Big Law to accept a position as a Senior Assistant County Solicitor in the Howard County Solicitor’s Office where she spent 10 years representing various boards, agencies and departments of the Howard County government. She started Taylor Legal in 2004 and in her practice, Ms. Taylor loves working with business owners to help them protect the businesses they created by making sure the legal foundations of their business entities are solid and that their transactional agreements are sound.

Ms. Taylor is a Certified Public Accountant and the Past President of the National Capital Area Chapter of the American Association of Attorney-CPAs. Ms. Taylor spent three years as a professor teaching business students enrolled in the Intellectual Property and Entrepreneurship Clinic at the University of Maryland Francis King Carey School of Law. She is a frequent instructor for continuing legal education programs for lawyers and certified public accountants. She has presented to other lawyer groups and trade associations on topics ranging from business entity selection and formation to commercial real estate transactions.

Ms. Taylor received her Juris Doctor with Honor from University of Maryland Francis King Carey School of Law and graduated Magna cum laude with a Bachelor of Science is Accounting from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte.
