Session I – Mastering Billable Hours: Essential skills for new attorneys

As attorneys, we provide services for our clients. We do good and we work hard. If you work in the private sector, however, you must also track the time you spend doing the work that you do in a way that can be captured and translated to revenue for your firm. This is an essential part of growing as a lawyer.

Session II – Ethical Consideration for New Attorneys

As lawyers, it is essential we understand the ethical considerations of our practice, communication, and relationship with our clients. In this session, we will focus on: Beginning and ending representation of clients, communicating with clients, client confidentiality and privilege, conflicts of interest, fee arrangements and marketing to prospective clients.

Josh Andrews is the managing partner of Gatehouse Law where he focuses his practice on the legal needs of entrepreneurs, business law, and complex transactions, such as business formations; business transactions; raising capital for businesses; complex business negotiations; national and international intellectual property management, property disputes and expansion of business; mergers and acquisitions; and preventative law business consulting.

Mr. Andrews is admitted to practice in Alabama and Georgia. He is a member of the Alabama State Bar and the State Bar of Georgia. Mr. Andrews earned his B.A. degree from Birmingham-Southern College and his J.D. degree from Cumberland School of Law.
