Ohio CLE RequirementsCLE requirements for Ohio attorneys.Required creditsOhio attorneys are required to earn 24 credits every 2 years, including 2.5 credits in Professional Conduct: Legal Ethics, Professionalism, Mental Health or Substance Abuse Issues, Access to Justice, and Fairness in the Courts.
Due date for CLE: All credits are due by December 31st.
Reporting credits: The reporting deadline is based on the attorney’s last name at the time they were sworn into the bar.
A-L must complete their educational hours by the end of each odd-numbered year
Last names starting with M-Z must complete their educational hours by the end of each even-numbered year.
Reporting attendance: myLawCLE reports attendance to the Ohio State Bar.
Self-Study/On-Demand creditsEffective January 1, 2023, the Supreme Court of Ohio permanently removed the self-study cap for attorneys. All credit hours can be completed through any format.
