Indiana CLE Requirements
CLE requirements for Indiana attorneys.
Required credits
Indiana attorneys are required to earn at (36) credits in a 3-year period (they must complete no less than (6) credits per year), including 3 Ethics.
eCLE – Distance Education credits
As of June 6, 2022, there are no limits on how many hours attorneys and judicial officers may complete via distance education courses as outlined in the Admission and Discipline Rules (rules 28 and 29). Read the full order here>>
Distance education courses do not require a student to be in the same location as the instructor and do not require an attendant to be at the learning site to monitor your attendance.
Non-legal subject matter (NLS) credits
NLS courses are courses that are not substantively legal but enhance your competence in your individual practice. An attorney may report a maximum of 12 hours of NLS credit per three-year cycle. An attorney may report any or all of the 12 allowable NLS hours in a single course or a given year.
