Session I – Enhancing Your Legal Investigation: Leveraging private investigator expertise to uncover critical evidence – Ashely Wardlow
In the realm of legal investigations, pinpointing and thoroughly understanding key parties—plaintiffs, defendants, witnesses, and clients—is crucial to building a strong case. This session provides comprehensive techniques for conducting detailed background investigations, including interviews, social media analysis, and public records research. Additionally, we will explore the often-underappreciated value of in-house or desktop investigations, which can provide critical information before surveillance even begins. These techniques allow investigators to gather actionable intelligence on the parties involved and craft a strategic approach tailored to the specific needs of each case.
Participants will learn how to uncover the location and status of assets through meticulous documentation of property ownership, asset and liability research, and the examination of consumer public filings such as bankruptcies, judgments, and liens. By legally tailoring investigations to fit the unique demands of each client, we ensure that no stone is left unturned, whether the case calls for financial discovery or witness testimony. This session will also cover the importance of gathering robust testimony through wellprepared reports, declarations, video-recorded evidence, depositions, and courtroom testimony. Attendees will leave with a solid understanding of how legal professionals can dig up critical information and build a compelling case by leveraging the unique capabilities of private investigators.
