Program Summary

This session will provide an outline of the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA), the federal consumer privacy statute that regulates calling, texting, and faxing. TCPA is a significant source of consumer class action litigation and failure to comply with the statute can expose a business to significant financial liability. Our discussion will be divided into two parts. During the first hour, we will give an outline of the TCPA and associated regulations and share important compliance considerations. In the second hour, we will review examples of noteworthy TCPA cases, including cases that have ended with high-dollar penalties or settlements being paid by defendants.

This course is co-sponsored with myLawCLE.

Key topics to be discussed:

  • Outline of the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA)
