Program Summary

In the fast-paced and high-stakes world of legal practice, ethical challenges are rarely black and white. This webinar explores real-world ethical dilemmas that lawyers at all levels may face—from handling mistakes transparently to navigating internal disagreements and challenging authority when necessary. This session is designed for attorneys who want more than just a rules-based review—it’s for those seeking practical tools for making principled decisions in the gray areas of modern practice.

Presented by The Federal Bar Association Younger Lawyers Divisions

Key topics to be discussed:

  • Owning Up: Why candor is essential when errors occur — and how to disclose and correct mistakes in ways that uphold your professional responsibilities and client trust
  • Facing Adverse Authority: How to deal with unfavorable law or facts ethically, and the importance of honesty with your team, your client, and (for litigators) the court
  • Speaking Up the Chain: What to do when you suspect a senior colleague is acting unethically — including specific tactics for raising concerns effectively while protecting your professional obligations and career

This course is co-sponsored with myLawCLE.
