Session II – How to Win a Trial Involving Complex Regional Pain Syndrome – Lloyd Bell
This practical, strategy-focused session provides proven techniques for building and presenting a winning CRPS case, from case selection and theme development through jury persuasion; it covers best practices for retaining, preparing, and presenting medical and life-impact experts (pain specialists, neurologists, vocational experts, economists, and treating physicians), crafting demonstrative evidence and timelines, distilling complex medical science into persuasive themes, and developing damages narratives; the course also provides step-by-step cross-examination strategies for dismantling defense experts (impeachment on methodology, bias, reliance on incomplete records, and alternative diagnoses), effective use of Daubert/Frye challenges, and courtroom tactics to neutralize defense narratives while maximizing jury comprehension and empathy.

James J. Lehman has been qualified as an expert in both civil and criminal courts. He has taught “Whiplash Associated Disorders” to chiropractic students and chiropractic physicians for more than 15 years.
