As an attorney and California licensed CPA, Michael G. Polis’ practice focuses on Knox-Keene Act licensed health care service plans and insurance regulatory matters. In addition, he represents health care providers, including physicians, dentists, optometrists, MSOs, IPAs and practice management companies. Michael provides legal services to Narcotic Treatment Programs, residential and non-residential alcohol and substance abuse facilities and Federally Qualified Health Centers.

He also provides legal counsel to individuals and business entities on tax, 1031 Exchanges, bankruptcy and general corporate-related legal issues. The emphasis of Michael’s practice is the licensing of healthcare facilities, HMOs and insurers. In addition, Michael teaches business law, legal research and writing at the University of California, Davis and his extensive writings on healthcare-related issues have appeared in The Sacramento Lawyer, the California Optometric Association’s monthly newsletter and Sacramento Medicine and Solano Physician magazines.

Lawyer and CPA by day, in his free time Mike runs his family sheep ranch at the base of the Sierra Nevada in a small rural farming community. When he is not farming or flying his Piper Cherokee 6 aircraft throughout California, Mike enjoys spending time with his family and cheering for the Bruins at UCLA football games.
