Program Summary

This CLE program will provide an in-depth examination of Texas Senate Bill 140 (SB 140), the recent amendment to the state’s Telephone Solicitation Act, often referred to as the “mini-TCPA.” The program is designed to equip attorneys with the knowledge necessary to advise clients who engage in consumer outreach, particularly those contacting Texas residents.

Key topics to be discussed:

  • Gain a comprehensive understanding of the scope and application of the amended statute, including how it aligns with and diverges from the federal TCPA
  • Learn about the statutory exceptions and carveouts available to specific business practices, and how to evaluate whether clients may qualify
  • Explore the anticipated compliance challenges and potential litigation risks that may emerge as the law is implemented
  • Receive practical guidance for counseling clients on risk mitigation, regulatory compliance, and strategies to adapt outreach practices in light of the amendment

This course is co-sponsored with myLawCLE.
