Program Summary

This course will provide associates and paralegals with tips on record keeping, requesting, and organizing discovery and proper set up and maintenance of case files for family law cases and most civil practice areas. We will discuss working with clients, attorneys and third parties to get the records that are needed for cases and keeping them easily accessible throughout the case. We will provide an overview of the paralegal’s role in taking a case from beginning to end. This will include a discussion on deadlines, preparing discovery, indexing, organization and preparing for trial. The course will cover danger zones and how to avoid them as well as legal obligations to the client, opposing party and the court.
