Session I - Leveraging AI in Your Daily Practice – Jasmine Lo

This session explores how paralegals can leverage Generative AI tools to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and productivity in their daily work. It will cover how to use GenAI tools responsibly and wisely, with attention to ethical and practical considerations. The presenter will share specific GenAI tools used in their own legal research work and demonstrate how those same tools and techniques can be applied across various paralegal practices.

Participants will also learn the fundamentals of effective prompting, based on guidance from a Google Coursera course, and see real examples of how GenAI can assist with legal searches, drafting, and other paralegal tasks.

Traditionally focused on executing specific tasks, paralegals are now positioned to become key drivers of efficiency, innovation, and process improvement within law firms. By understanding how to integrate and manage AI tools, paralegals can move beyond task completion to system optimization, leveraging AI as a true force multiplier for legal operations.

She continues to stay on the cutting edge of personal injury law as the sole paralegal for Ryan McKeen at McKeen Law Firm, ensuring every case is handled with precision and care.

Marisa has shared her expertise on several legal industry podcasts and at professional events, including the Connecticut Trial Lawyers Association’s Annual Conference. Today, through her work at Best Era, she’s on a mission to redefine how law firms train and empower their paralegals by creating confident, capable professionals who strengthen teams, improve client outcomes, and raise the standard for the entire legal field.
