Nicole Ford, who is bilingual in Spanish, started practicing law in 2006, after spending the prior two years working as a certified law student and director of legal services for Yolo County’s Sexual Assault and Domestic Law Center (now Empower Yolo). From 2005 until 2015 she worked in the non-profit world, providing family law and immigration law representation for low-income survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, and human trafficking.

In September 2015, Ms. Ford established the Law Offices of Nicole Ford, expanding her practice into International Hague Child Abduction cases, interstate domestic cases, International Jurisdiction and matters of Uniform Child Custody Jurisdiction and Enforcement Act (UCCJEA) matters, representing minor children, guardianships. All while maintaining her regular family law practice with a special emphasis in representing survivors of domestic violence. Limited Means representation and pro bono work constitutes at least 25% of Ms. Ford’s continued work.

Nicole Ford is dedicated not only to the ethical practice of law – serving and protecting the rights of all people. While serving on several community councils and committees, Ms. Ford has been part of changes in local rules and practices regarding domestic violence (whether it be probation changes for those convicted of domestic violence, changes, and stronger enforcement of firearm relinquishment, and more).

She was a regular contributor to Yahoo News Sports articles on domestic violence in the NFL as well as local articles on the same with Ann Killion and SF Gate.
