Program Summary

Over the past decade, the true crime genre has seen an explosion of exposure, largely thanks to the proliferation of streaming services. This program will assist attorneys in learning the origins of the genre, its history, and its effect on mainstream media. Moreover, we will discuss how true crime intersects with the practice of law and its practical, ethical, and strategic aspects.

Adam R. Banner is the founder and lead attorney of The Law Offices of Adam R. Banner, P.C., a criminal defense law firm in Oklahoma City. His practice focuses solely on state and federal criminal defense. He represents the accused against allegations of sex crimes, violent crimes, drug crimes, and white-collar crimes. Mr. Banner’s practice is primarily geared towards trial advocacy, where he has secured various dismissals and acquittals in numerous major felony matters. Additionally, since 2017, he has written a bi-weekly column for the ABA Journal examining the intersection between law and pop culture.
