Concealed income and undervalued businesses are old problems; an undisclosed cryptocurrency wallet is the new one. New IRS digital-asset reporting (Form 1099-DA) and maturing blockchain forensics now give family lawyers tracing tools that barely existed two years ago. But the rules of discovery, valuation, and equitable distribution still decide whether you can use them.
Miss an undervalued closely-held business, and your client’s share of the marital estate shrinks. Overlook an undisclosed wallet, and the loss persists after judgment. Treat forensic discovery as routine disclosure, and concealment goes unproven at trial.
You walk out with a discovery and tracing framework: how to compel financial disclosure, value closelyheld businesses, impute income, subpoena exchanges and custodians, and draft digital-asset settlement provisions that hold after judgment.
What Will You Learn
How to compel financial disclosure through discovery, value closely-held businesses and impute income, and trace undisclosed cryptocurrency using blockchain forensics and subpoenas to exchanges and custodians.
What Will You Gain
A working framework for discovery strategy, expert coordination, and trial presentation of concealment evidence, plus the ability to structure enforceable settlement agreements for cryptocurrency distribution.
