Program Summary

With the emergence of new and improved Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) and Automated Vehicles (AVs), technology is transforming the way humans interact with vehicles. As these technologies evolve, human factors, such as trust, comprehension, and usability of these systems, play a crucial role in ensuring these ADAS / AV systems are used safely and effectively. Industry and regulators are also facing challenges with data collection and interpretation for these systems, which makes it difficult to answer fundamental questions about their performance.

Key topics to be discussed:

  • Learn about the claims/theories driving ADAS/AV litigation and understand the role of vehicle data in the current legal landscape
  • Understand SAE levels of vehicle automation and how they relate to current automotive technology
  • Learn about how drivers understand, accept, and interact with ADAS/AV systems
  • Understand challenges with using real-world driving data to evaluate performance of ADAS and AV systems
  • Learn about the claims/theories driving ADAS/AV litigation and understanding the role of vehicle data in the current legal landscape

This course is co-sponsored with myLawCLE.
