Program Summary

A few weeks ago, United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) announced its new edition of Form I-9 Employment Eligibility Verification. While the dust has mostly settled from the remodeling of this form, many employers are still deciding the next steps for moving into the new design for training HR staff and more importantly how to decide whether or not to use  the permanent remote verification option. Employers must meet three requirements to conduct post-pandemic Form I-9 updates using the new alternative inspection virtual review process and  must implement in a uniform and non- discriminatory manner. We will provide practical tips and guidance to assist with the move to the new Form I-9 mandated for use for all U.S. employers on November 1, 2023, and address other important immigration and compliance updates.

This course is co-sponsored with myLawCLE.

Key topics to be discussed:

  • The new Form I-9 issued August 1, 2023, required for use by November 1, 2023
  • Practical Issues for I-9 Compliance
  • Conditions for Employers to Conduct Remote Verifications

Date / Time: September 19, 2023
