Program Summary

This presentation will focus on evidentiary objections at trial and will teach attendees when to “hold them” and when to assert objections at trial. The speaker will discuss how to make objections at trial in front of the jury, factors to consider before making objections, and how to avoid impropriety in front of the jury when asserting objections. This presentation will also identify, and provide examples, of the most important objection mistakes, the objections you will most likely have to defend in court, and the mistakes made most often in responding to objections.

The attendee should expect to leave the presentation with a working knowledge of how to walk the line between preserving the record for appeal and going too far with a speaking objection. In addition, attendees will learn which objections are not worth the risk in front of a jury, and how to best respond to an objection to set up the other side as someone who wants to hide the truth.

This course is co-sponsored with myLawCLE.
