Mathew Kerbis | Subscription Attorney LLC
Mathew Kerbis is The Subscription Attorney. He’s on a mission to get more attorneys to adopt the subscription model and abandon the billable hour. He founded the law firm Subscription Attorney LLC in 2022 after working for private practice law firms for nine years. It’s a modern law firm offering subscriptions starting at $19.99/month. Kerbis realized the subscription model could revolutionize the legal profession, so he launched the podcast Law Subscribed to help the rest of the legal profession make the same choice. Kerbis was a 2023 ABA TECHSHOW speaker on the subscription model for legal services and law in the metaverse. He has also presented on the subscription model to Stanford’s CodeX online community.
Kerbis has served as an American Bar Association leader for over a decade, where he has chaired boards, advocated for legal education reform, interviewed ABA Presidents and State Appellate and Supreme Court Justices, and lobbied Congress. He also volunteers on the Institute for the Advancement of the American Legal System’s Foundations Advisory Committee, the Deerfield Park Foundation Board, and Deerfield Family Theater Board. He was also a speaker for the 2021 Metaverse Safety Week (formerly XR Safety Week). As a law student, Kerbis served as an extern for the Honorable Justice Robert E. Gordon of the Illinois Appellate Court, First District.
